Tom is a perceptive person with strong listening and empathy skills. He has a sharp psychological awareness and can be direct and challenging in his feedback. Clients say he helps them find meaning and purpose in their working lives.

Coaching provides the executive with a unique relationship that is dedicated to his or her success. Tom focuses on giving the client the time and space to develop insight and identify strategies that are going to work for them in the future.

Jerry Gilpin provides leadership and development coaching to a wide range of commercial, public sector and third sector organisations in the UK and abroad. Since launching his business in 2007, he has coached around 100 CEOs, senior managers and leaders in areas such as communication skills, work-life balance, career transition, managing conflict and change and values-based leadership. Clients report greater creativity, effectiveness and personal satisfaction in their roles as typical results of this coaching work.

Jerry is comfortable and experienced in working in a range of complex organisational cultures (businesses, Oxford University colleges, churches, trustee-run organisations, schools, legal firms) and in supporting leaders as they manage the competing demands of these cultures.

His background in education and Christian ministry equips Jerry to work empathetically with clients to address the overlap between professional and personal development issues. To this experience over 25 years Jerry has added qualifications in coaching from the OCM (Level 7), in psychometric instruments such as the MBTI and Firo-b from OPP, in remote coaching work with Creative Metier, and in a wealth of other practical and widely applicable instruments. He received his EMCC Accreditation at Senior Practitioner level in December 2011.

PB Coaching specialises in accredited coach training, executive coaching, team coaching and the development of high performance coaching cultures. We have been working at all levels from senior leadership teams and board level directors to middle managers in both the private and public sectors for over 20 years. Our company is recognised as one of the innovators and leaders in executive development, coach education and organisational development consultancy.

Our approach is rooted in gestalt and addresses the person in their cultural setting. We raise excitement about the possibilities for change in both the client and their situation. We enable individuals, teams and organisations to grasp hold of and take ownership of what really matters and what they are seeking to achieve.

In Ireland, in collaboration with University College Dublin (UCD), we deliver the Diploma in Business and Executive Coaching and the Diploma in Advanced Business and Executive Coaching.

In the UK, in collaboration with Leeds Metropolitan University, we deliver the Postgraduate Certificate in Business and Executive Coaching, the Postgraduate Diploma in Coaching Psychology and the Post Graduate Diploma in Coach Supervision. These programmes are the first two stages of the MA in Executive and Business Coaching, the third level of which is delivered directly by Leeds Metropolitan University.

The UCD Diploma in Business and Executive Coaching and the Leeds Metropolitan University Postgraduate Certificate in Business and Executive Coaching are recognised by the European Mentoring and Coaching Council at Senior Practitioner Level.

Organisations are increasingly viewing coaching as essential to enhancing performance, developing talent and increasing employee engagement in the workplace. We have extensive experience delivering shorter programmes in-company for organisations seeking to develop a coaching culture, thus enabling employees to develop a coaching mind-set and engage in coaching conversations in their everyday activities. Our 5 day in-company programme is accredited through the EMCC at Foundation level.

‘The Forensic Science Service (FSS) is the market leader in the supply of forensic services to police forces in England and Wales and has a global reputation for excellence in the development and deployment of new and advanced techniques. Its heritage and expertise also provide the basis for world-class training services.

The Forensic Science Service pioneered the development and implementation of DNA technologies. It also paved the way for the establishment of the world’s first DNA database, launched in April 1995.

Since 2005 FSS has been a 100% Government-owned company, or GovCo. The change in status from a Trading Fund enables it to respond quicker to changes in the forensic science market and compete more effectively with other business in the field.

The drive for innovation continued to yield ground-breaking results, with the introduction of the National Firearms Forensic Database in 2003 and Footwear Intelligence Technology (FIT), the UK’s first online footwear coding and detection management system, in 2007.

The organisation has been on a path of transformation over the last two years. Part of the recent transformation activity has included a programme of developing leadership capability to support the organisation through transformation.

A key element of this has been to develop a coaching culture and style of leadership, of which the accredited programme has been a part. Two cohorts of managers have bene through the programme and we have seen a great development in coaching skills for these managers.

Unfortunately, the government has recently announced the closure of the FSS, so the prgramme will not run again.’

With eight years’ experience as an executive coach, following a successful career as an HR Director in the engineering and food & drink sectors, Jonathan has a wealth of experience both leading change in organisations and helping others do the same. He has an M.Sc. in Mentoring & Coaching and is on the NHS Institute register of approved executive coaches. He is qualified in psychometric testing, as well as being experienced in 360-degree feedback. He is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development.

Jonathan has coached up to chief executive in the private, public and third sector. Particularly at a senior level, leadership development is primarily about discovering and exploiting your core strengths and incorporating these into a style which is congruent with your values and personality. The best leaders are self-aware, and able to adopt a repertoire of behaviours suited to their particular strengths. As someone who values pragmatism and common sense, Jonathan applies a similar ethic to his coaching, using a repertoire of approaches, including his own, GROW, solutions-focused coaching, as well as elements of transactional analysis and emotional intelligence.

He helps clients to identify what they really want, what approaches suit them best, and then provides the thinking space, structure, support and challenge for them to achieve their goals. Outcomes valued by clients include understanding better where to focus their energies, developing the skills & behaviours to make career transitions, seeing the bigger picture when considering future strategies, gaining a renewed sense of self-confidence, and enjoying more productive relationships with their colleagues/boss/team.

Jonathan has also provided consultancy support and training to a wide range of organisations, both in the U.K. and overseas, to help them introduce coaching and mentoring successfully. This has included large multi-nationals, government departments, schools and universities.
